Assignment #4

For this project I tried to pay attention to how I was using my space.  I'm happy with the outcome, I feel like my compositions were better planned then they have been in previous assignments.

Assignment #3

High-key 1

High-key 2

Low-key 1

Low-key 2

The most interesting thing I learned from this assignment is not what I expected.  From photographing high-key and low-key images side-by-side, I noticed how the dark and light images seem to carry a different mood.  The darker images tend to 'feel' a bit depressing, while the white images come across as pristine and elegant.  It would be interesting to try finding a way to photograph a dark image in a way that didn't come across as so emotionally dark....  I was also surprised by how different the camera's ideal exposure and my ideal exposure was, I expected a difference, but certainly not that much.  In the future I will be much more conscious of how my exposure is set.

Assignment #1 - Scavenger Hunt

Three unprocessed images:

Good Edits:

Bad Edits:

In order to complete this assignment I had to read alot of my camera's manual.  As a result, in the assignment I learned alot about how my camera functions, and what it's capable of, including many of the camera's flaws.  By the process of taking pictures I learned that photography takes alot of patience. I'm not entirely happy with how my images turned out, I'm hoping that the exposure will be more correct when I am using the camera on manual (and choosing my own settings) as opposed to the automatic settings found in Program.

Evidence of my Lack of Star Wars Knowledge

Because I've never really followed Star Wars, can't say I have a favorite character. So here is my uneducated 'photo' choice.
